This recent guitar is getting close to something I’ve been pursuing for a while now. The arch top unique attack response and general tonal characteristics, a flat back, fairly active, the top braced and graduated pretty much like the F5 mandolin method. I’ve made a few now with different back material, cherry, mahogany, this one Madagascar rosewood. I was blown away when I had the opportunity to try one of Ken Parker’s guitars three years ago at the Holy Grail Guitar Show in Berlin. I consider Ken to be a master of the highest order. His innovations are divinely inspired. The guitar I tried was simply nectar to my musical aspirations. To do that is the grail I seek. I remain for the moment in the realm of firm anchorage to the classic tradition.
During five decades I have handbuilt over a thousand instruments. I continually strive to push the boundaries of what is expected in the performance of an acoustic instrument.
